In Matanzas, about 13kms from the Bay of Pigs, there is Playa Larga. With an extension of 4kms of the beach, its white sands and crystal clear waters offer an excellent opportunity for underwater activities such as snorkeling, diving with day and night acualon and diving in caverns in the many cenotes that it has. With a great underwater beauty rich in corals, gorgonians, sponges, and other species of varied flora and fauna. In this town, there is also the International Bird Observation Center, one of the most specialized on the island. In the "La Salina" wildlife refuge it is possible to observe up to 165 different migratory and native species, including flamingo, cell, and cranes.
